Art rarely emerges in isolation. In a world where living costs are high and it is not easy to sustain a life as an artist, the need for places where creativity is not only possible but also supported continues to grow. From this idea, the renewed concept of ‘Le Dragon’ was born, an artist-in-residence where talent, tranquility, and connection are central.

As an artist, you carry a gift within you, the ability to contribute something meaningful to society. L’USINE DES RÊVES aims to support and strengthen this power by bringing artists together in an inspiring environment. Here, near the Zwin and the sea, a unique dynamic arises. Water acts as a magnet. Many artists are drawn to it, just as I am, LACH refers to living near water.

The residence offers more than just a workspace. It is a peaceful environment where artistic activities generate energy, enjoyment, and inspiration. By coming together, sharing ideas, and inspiring one another, collective strength emerges. Instead of working in isolation, we build something greater together, where every voice matters and every artistic practice is enriched through exchange.

This concept builds on a previous successful experience. Several years ago, a successful artist-in-residence took place in Ghent, where collaboration and cross-pollination were key. That positive energy now forms the foundation for this new initiative in Knokke-Heist.
